Phone service using house cables

I had verizon and now want to use the jacks in my home for my phone service from comcast, i have the phone and modem unit in a bed room

Make sure that Verizon's wiring to your home's phone jacks has been disconnected. This is usually done at a junction box mounted outside your home.


Then connect the L1 phone jack on your modem or gateway to the nearest wall phone jack with a 4 conductor telephone cord (a "base cord") with a modular plug on both ends to energize the other jacks in your home.
