Phone line

We have intermittent line interruption on our phone. The voice break-up is on both wireless phones and directly connected land line. When at it's worst, it is impossible to understand incoming calls. Do we need a service call?

Make sure your phone service is not connected to your demarc box if you had a landline other than Comcast. Reboot emta or gateway and if you still have problems by all means make a service appointment if the problem persists.

We have absolutely no idea what the "demarc box" is or the "emta" or the "gateway." Maybe an interpreter would be helpful. And our phone reception is still garbled. We are ready to leave Comcast and find a different service provider.

"no line"... display on cordless phones reads "no line."   and the line is dead...
