I just want to state I have the same problem, or to be more correct my mother has this same problem. I had her reset her modem and have not heard anything back yet.
I think I am looking for a clear solution to this problem also.

I have sent an email to my mother asking for her CM MAC address. Hopefully I will not have to drive 8 miles to look at the back of her eMTA (modem). I will send you a PM soon.
