Number of Rings Before Voicemail Pickup

Just got CDV today. Voicemail won't pick up until about the 10th ring.  I was informed during a chat with CDV that the only way to get it changed was through a CDV technician. She put my request in for the two phone lines I have. Is this the only way to change this very basic requirement? Why is the default 9 or 10 rings?

Hi knamkraps,

At this time, the only way to change the number of rings before your voicemail picks up is to contact us. Usually the default number of rings is four. I'm not sure why yours is so high; it is possible that there was an order-entry error when we were setting up your account.

If you send me a private forum message, I will be able to change this to however many rings you would like for you.
