New backup battery for voice modem

New backup battery for voice modem

Our old voice modem worked fine but we were instructed by Comcast to order a new one, which was free.  We received it and installed it, and now we're being instructed to order and PAY for a backup battery for the new modem.  This doesn't make sense to us.  We never felt we needed the new modem in the first place.  Can Comcast waive this battery fee?  It costs over $35!

Re: New backup battery for voice modem

Comcast sent me a new modem/router device which was installed yesterday. I too noted, NO BATTERY, so thank you for letting us know what's up. I will await some response to your email.

ALSO my streaming (video or music) freezes after about 10 to 20 minutes.

THEN my phones do not work!

The only phone that works is plugged DIRECTLY into the modem; all others are out and NONE ring when called!

This POS must positively addressed and rectified!

The new modem was necessary as yours was probably out of date.  I know that it stinks that the battery is no longer available.  As of Febuary they started to charge for the modem.  I can suggest since they will not waive the fee, go to amazon or ebay you can get a new battery for about 15 dollars.
