Message left but no blink on my end

I have an odd situation: messages left by one other Comcast subscriber - and only that one person -  do not blink on my phone.  I only know that that person has left a message when someone else calls, leaves a message and it does blink.  It has happened several times with this one caller.  His messages do not produce a blink on my phone, although his call does appear on the call log.  If there's no blink, I assume he called but left no message.  Then, sometime later, I'll discover that he indeed did leave a message.  He is a FL customer; I'm in MN.
