Intermittent voice cutting out...

I have Xfinity triple play (2 phone lines) and have ongoing, intermittent problems with my phone. Randomly, I'll be on a conference call and no one can hear me. Often, my phone cannot dial out properly (will have to dial out 3 or 4 times before it works). I'm trying to figure out if its a problem w/ my phone (AT&T model 993) or the Xfinity service. Anyone having similar problems or recommendations for troubleshooting?
