Seems that you have your home phone set with more rings than the # of voice mail rings.
Try changing it in VOICE PREFERENCES:
- Checking Voice Mail - Edit
- Number of Prompts is defaulted to STANDARD
- Change to EXTENDED
And maybe change your home phone ringing to a little less (but may not have to after setting the above)

i didnt get much help from comcast online chat support .... would have been a great deal of time saved if they would cut out the chit chat like saying hello to me 3 times throughout the conversation ... anyway what worked for me was to restart the modem by un plugging it .... good luck
