Hacking?

Hacking?

Hello,

I just got a call with my own phone number and name showing up on the caller ID. I thought that was strange, and answered it - it was a recorded telemarketing call. So is a telemarketing company now using my name and phone to call others?  Or are they doing this so I cannot block the call (I'd be blocking myself). I have heard the same telemarketing message before and blocked the number (I think it comes from Florida), but it seems that they have figured out a work-around. Never mind that I am registered on every do-not-call list available.

Thoughts?

Thank you.

Re: Hacking?

You would have to call a Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and tell them that you are put on a "do not call" list but you are still recieving telemarketing calls in YOUR name and number. They will talk with the telemarketer and you probably won't recieve telemarketing calls anymore.

Re: Hacking?

You can also file a complaint on the do not call .gov website.
