Downstairs Lines Dead/Upstairs lines ok

Ive done the whole swap the cordless phone out with the cord phone routine & plugged all phones directly into the modem so I know the phones themselves are ok.  The kitchen line is dead & so isn't the livingroom line (no dialtone on either).  Any ideas????

I have a similar problem.  Only one phone jack seems to be working.  I had switched from Verizon back to Comcast about one week before this problem presented itself.  Phone lines appear to still be running through Verizon hardware in basement.  Any way the Verizon hardware could have something to do with the interruption in the second phone line?

How was the issue resolved? Their was Verizon here from the previous owner, but I had Comcast installed back in Dec.
