Comcast phone service

My phone has a lot of static and will not call out?

Re: Comcast phone service

Reset your eMTA telephony modem as a start.  Press the small indented reset button on the panel where the cables attach.  Also test with a known good wired phone connected directly to the L1/L2 jack on the eMTA telephony modem.

if it works with a phone directly connected, then it would be a inside wiring issue that would need to be fixed.  Most static issues are with the inside wiring, jacks and splices.  You can attempt to fix it yourself, hire a local low voltage contractor or Comcast.  Inside phone wiring is owned by the homeowner, and would end up paying to get it fixed, just like your electrical & plumbing.
