Just got the Xfinity triple package. Caller ID on TV and PC displays only phone numbers and not names for people calling from a cell phone. It displays both, name and number, for land line calls. Is that how it is supposed to work? If it is, is there a way to build a personal phone book so that people in the phone book with cell phones would be identified by name and number when they call?
Sorry about the issues with Caller id to TV not displaying all information from cellular calls.
It's working properly. For cell phones, The caller's information must be modified or corrected by their service provider in order to display on Caller ID.
The information on the TV pulls from the Caller's Caller ID provider and not from any address book/contact list on the customer’s existing equipment.
Sorry about that,Please let me know if you require more assistance.
We had Comcast cable, but Verizon for TV and internet. We recently switched to the Comcast Triple Play. With Verizon, our caller ID phone displayed names that went along with cell phone numbers. Now, with Comcast, we only get numbers on the phone and on the TV. Can this be fixed? I understand that the information passed through comes from the caller's carrier, but that doesn't explain why we used to get names and now we don't.
