Answering machine versus Voicemail

When I am using my phone an incoming call is automatically sent to Voicemail.  Unless I check Voicemail I'll never know who called.


How do I turn off Voicemail so an incoming caller receives a busy signal?

You want to turn off call waiting, not voicemail. If you turn off VM then they would just hear ringing forever. You will need to contact Comcast.
