Anonymous callers

Why do I keep receiving "anonymous" and "not available" callers with no phone number showing.  I have done the *77 thing almost on a weekly basis and even talked to a comcast agent who told me to do the * 77.  When I talked to the agent it stopped for about a month and then started again. I also have anonymous call rejection checked on my voice preferences.  I never answer those types of calls but they are very annoying. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Anonymous callers

Hi Will43, the * 77 should work in setting this up. There is also a way were you can setup this online

If You Have Both XFINITY Voice and XFINITY Internet

Access XFINITY Connect.
Select the Email icon.
Enter your primary XFINITY username and password.
Go to the Preferences tab.
Select the Voice icon.
Select Call Blocking.
Select Call Screening.
For Anonymous Call Rejection, click the appropriate box.
Click Save.

If this does not resolve the issue let me know. -FC

Re: Anonymous callers

To:  ComcastFrancisc, Thank you for your reply.  I had previously done all that you had suggested.

However, I may have spoken too soon. I had looked at the Xfinity voice page and noticed in the missed calls section there were several days with a couple of anonymous calls a day but only lasting 0 seconds.  I checked the incoming log on my phone and none of those calls registered. I think the system is working properly.  I also use a call blocker and have NOMOROBO. Usually a blocked call will ring once and then stop the call. All three systems are great but unfamiliar nubers and unwanted calls still get through. Those I just don't answer and add to mycall blocker..

Re: Anonymous callers

That is good to hear Will43 . I am not sure if you knew this, but if any calls are getting through you can report these to Nomorobo by going to http://www.nomorobo.com/report . -FC
