Links to Files on PWP

I have uploaded my doc and pdf files into "Documents" directory under File Manager in PWP Tool.  Files are marked as public.

I have put link in a new page I created "Maps".

http://home.comcast.net/~villadriftwood/Documents/X21X_5632 aerial7_Reduced.pdf

When I click on the link, the document does not open.

Instead, I get the same dialog that I get when I click the file name under "View and Manage Files" tab of PWP tool, which allows me to download, but also trash the file.  Got same result putting link on default home page

How do I get the document to open?

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks.

Your file is located at

http://home.comcast.net/~villadriftwood/X21X_5632%20aerial7_Reduced.pdf

When I clicked on your link I was taken to your File Manager, which showed the location of the file, which wasn't in Documents.

Re: Links to Files on PWP

You created a link to the publisher page being used to link the pdf document and not the document.  Here is the link you have: https://publish.comcast.net/modal_windows/file_details/QVFqjTuu0jF1SgrdQpEbPXCfT6syxXMVTLHrlQfepJshDhQvjXhhagiqu1pixW8euiH9VvuxWMmmWWEKX3UVWWA8znB8m2kxr_AXyzXPIuBhLvHNulf7GUFu6Ilc_AkJ2LFoYHsXJ6zEY_--A3NENQ,Documents-%5E-X21X_5632%20aerial7_Reduced.pdf,documents,40798,1256484370,Portable%20Document%20Format,No,all/

You need to link to the pdf files actual location on the server.  When using PWP have a second window or tab open in your browser to test the link location on the server  The server is case sensitive so if the file name is mydocument.pdf the link will not work as MyDocument.PDF for example.

Your link will be at the location Again gave you.  Use it in the editor
