my hdtv installed on dta upstairs was receiving only limited channels compared to my hdtv located downstairs - to check to see if due to dta or location i moved the dta from the downstairs tv upstairs and found that i could not get any channels - when i reinstalled the dta downstairs i could not get any channels -  how do i restore service downstairs and get full service upstairs???

the hdtv located on the cable box is unaffected

DTAs usually only receive up to the Digital Starter tier of channels. Anything above that tier requires a full Set Top Box either HD or SD.

To try and get your DTA reset you could try calling the 800 number and there should be a phone prompt for sending a reset signal. Have the DTA plugged in for about 45 minutes before trying that. Or try this site

With the DTA on, I am able to hold "INFO" until a screen comes up with a lot of menu options.  One of those options brings up a screen that shows all of the channels that the DTA should be receiving (in my case it is app. 70 as I have Digital Starter in 80026).
