Tech support for cable box

Tech support for cable box

My cable box will not receive a command from the remote.  New batteries in the remote.  All lights are active on the box for a moment, then it goes block.  The TV is receiving a signal and then the screen becomes bright pink.  Should the cable box be returned to the company and a new one installed?  Does the remote control need to be replace?

On the remote, try pressing cable and power
