Remote Control for legacy 'dcx3501/e385/012/500' dvr

Xfinity replaced my old dvr with a dcx3501/e385/012/500. The remote that came with this is an XR2 and will not program a 30 second skip with this particular dvr. Does anyone have this dvr and use it with the grey (not silver) xfinity remote...if so, does it work properly and can it program the 30 sec. skip?

Yes, the old gray or silver remotes will work fine. The DCX still understands the older Motorola codes, in addition to the newer XMP codes used by all newer Comcast equipment.
