DVR doesn't work after brief power outage during storm - suggestions on resetting it?

Hey folks,

Was watching a recording when the power glitched at home. The cable boxes eventually recovered but the DVR function of one box is out. The help folk suggested the usual reset via unplugging but it hasn't recovered. So, before I have to get it replaced and lose all the shows taped, any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Vanth

There are some resets you can try for the Motorola DVR, described here.  The usual warnings about possible loss of saved programs apply.  You may have no choice other than having the DVR replaced.

Is this still true?  Since this reply was from 09', hoping that restore features have become available.  DVR is Motorola DCH3416.
