Hi-

I only have one TV and one cable box. Am I able to use this for any room, or do i need to have someone come out and do something to the wall jack or ?????

Well, you have to be sure that the cable outlet in the 2nd room is actually connected. You never know what a previous owner, landlord, or tenant might have done with the wires & splitters where the TV cables enter your residence. Most likely it will be fine, but if you get no signal in the 2nd room, you'll have to troubleshoot a little.
