Xfinity "SECURE YOUR ACCOUNT"

In the “SECURE YOUR ACCOUNT” dialogue box, I’m being asked to enter my email address. When I type in my ONLY email address which is a comcast.net address, an error message appears that I cannot use a comcast.net or xfinity.com address. How do I complete the questionnaire?

Create a new email account using any "free" email services ( Gmail, Yahoo, Microsoft ).  It is always a good idea to have a secondary account in case your primary email is down or has been hacked.

The "Secure Your Account" feature, besides inconvenient for many, is misleading. They are used more than alerting you for security purposes. Adding a secondary email or phone number creates alternate ways to login as well and will be displayed among the "Find My ID" feature.
