 It's a known issue.

 

It's inconvenient, but it's nothing nefarious. They have been making some changes to their system and have been working the kinks out. It's a critical system so they need to make sure it's working properly before it goes live.

 

If you don't want to call, an employee can help you -- no pressure. 😎 All you need to do is start your own topic in the customer service forum.

 

Comcast expects the repairs to be completed in early 2018.

I've had the issue of not being able to manage my account for close to two months now. I've spoken with a myriad of customer service reps that said that they were not aware of this issue and are unsure of how to  fix the situation. Each time i've called i had to wait for a rep for at least 45 minutes to get no answer to my concerns. If they they are trying to fix the issue they need to inform their customer because clearly this is not the first instance and it isn't being addressed in a timely manner.

I would have to assume that instead of a comcast employee answering my questions they rely on you to delete the threads which bring up the issue.   The error with the account management and plan upgrades has been around for months.  This is not new and by far not something that should take this long with a multi million dollar company behind it.

 

If this is actually an issue with back end development and intergration then comcast should step up and officially answer its customers stating that fact. The account management section should also state the fact.   No offence but like your signature states you are not a comcast employee so your comments and statements are just that.  Not official comcast news or updates.

Was there a solution to this?  Did anyone who was having issues eventually have the ability to manage their account?

No offense intended, but I call it BS.

I've been a Comcast customer for more than 5 years and I have never been able to use the self service option and it always give me the same stupid message. 

I think is to force customers to talk with customer support and get even more expensive packages.
