unread e-mails sent to trash

when I send an unread e-mail to my trash, why does it show up as being read in the trash folder?

Re: unread e-mails sent to trash

It does the same thing for me.  I think that's the default behavior for the Trash folder.  Oddly enough though, if I use Delete to put a message in Trash, then mark it as Unread, then move it to the Spam folder, it will show one unread message.

Go figure
