spam email

spam email

When I get spam email, I send it to my SPAM folder.  I read where you should not unsubscribe if they don't have your actual email.  Anyway, what is the purpose of the SPAM folder if I keep getting all of this stuff?  Thank you

Re: spam email

If you get junk in the Inbox, keep marking it as Spam to "train" the filters.  it could take some time for them to learn what you consider to be spam.  But the purpose of the Spam folder is so that you can check it periodically to make sure nothing legitimate got sent there.  No smap filtering system is perfect, and will sometimes hit false positives, sending good emails to Spam.

Re: spam email

What is the duration for "some time"?

I've been declaring spam emails for 2.5 months now and there has been no improvement in the amount of spam caught by the Comcast filters.  I have even add my own filters in preferences  - 9 different filters with 6 to 8 different sources in each.  I know I'm just filterin proxies, but I have to do something because Comcast is not on the job.

I've just decided to forward my Comcast email to my gmail account.  The gmail filters catch it all without me marking them as spam.

Comcast could do the same if the effort was made.

Re: spam email

I have been sending these spam emails to the spam filter for years now and I still keep getting them. How long does it take to train Comcast to filter out these spam emails. Funny how I NEVER get spam email on my gmail account NEVER. Comcast take a few days off from trying to keep changing the home and forum pages and work on the spam filters for God Sakes.
