smtp.comcast.net times out

smtp.comcast.net times out

Starting last night, SMTP server times out when trying to send mail. This is across multiple devices connecting through various methods. I can't send email from either of two PC's. The android eventually gets the email sent, connecting over the air, but it may take hours to do it.

The response when trying to send from PC is

Status: Connected to smtp.comcast.net

for a minute or two, followed by

Sending of the message failed.
The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.comcast.net timed out. Try again.

Server never responds, never asks for password. Something is way wrong.

Re: smtp.comcast.net times out

It has resolved as of yesterday.

As I have repeatedly stated, the problem was that the SMTP server was slow.

It is extremely annoying when the Comcast employees want to jump to my settings.

The problem is not on my end or with my settings, and never was.

The problem was entirely on Comcast's end, which was why I was trying to alert someone, anyone.

Same problem here, both with Thunderbird email and on iPhone 4S. The message I get on Thunderbird is "Mail server mail.comcast.net responded: + ". In my case, it started this morning, Sep 18 2015.
