missing email

missing email

I have months and years of saved emails that have just disapeared from my inbox.

I have my email deletion prefferences set to NEVER.  But now they are disapearing after 5-7 days. I have been contacting C/S for 3 months and no one has fixed the problem. Last event # I was given is # 9346489 I was told a supervisor would look into it and contact me. over 2 weeks ago. I'm still looseing them. and no one ever contacted me. Can I temperailly close my account, and then reopen it to possibly "reset" my email prefferences?

Re: missing email

As a precaution I would change your password to something stronger than whatever it is right now, and also change your secret question and answer. Suddenly vanishing emails is a common sign of a malware infection, or a compromised account. Run a complete scan of your machine with your A/V software to see if it finds anything wrong.

Also, do you have another device like a smartphone or tablet with the account enabled on it? If so it may be downloading and then deleting the messages from the server. Check all the settings in it to see if that's what's going on.  The settings on another device/computer will override the Comcast webmail preferences.
