missing email in inbox

missing email in inbox

This is the second time this has happened to me.  I have an inbox with  less than 200 emails, and all of a sudden all but 15 (most recent) are gone.  I can not find them in any of my folders and they are not in the recover deleted email list.  i keep them in my inbox because they still need attention.  how do i retrieve these and why is this happening?  my settings say never delete items in my inbox.

Re: missing email in inbox

Do you have the account enabled on another device like a smartphone or a tablet?  Because the settings on those will override the settings you have in Comcast preferences.  So check those to see if that is what is going on.

Then as a precaution I would change your password to something stronger than whatever it is right now, and also change your secret question and answer. Suddenly vanishing emails is a common sign of a malware infection, or a compromised account. Run a complete scan of your machine with your A/V software to see if it finds anything wrong.
