is this a phishing attempt?

is this a phishing attempt?

I have gotten two emails this weekend supposedly from xfinity asking me to click a link and confirm my email address. Highly suspicious. I have attempted to contact live chat support and nobody joins the chat. Here is the body of the email...

"Hello,
To all comcast customers we are asking all email customers to verify there email on file to confirm it in our databases thank you for your time. Please click link below to start process.

                            http://xfinitysupportteam.com

Sincerely,
XFINITY® Team

And here is the header...

"
Please read! Important message from Comcast.
  Sent By:
Comcast   On:Mar 03/27/16 3:00 PM"

Whats up with this? I'm not doing it.

Re: is this a phishing attempt?

First, for future reference, do NOT post links in phishing mails. Sometimes they are active links at the time of posting. If active, the post will be removed. In your case, I am not removing your post because the link goes to a page which cannot be displayed. The phishers have taken the site down.

Second, it is a bogus mail, a phishing attempt.

Please read this Comcast Email Phish or Legit? How to Tell (and rules for posting about your mail) clickable link.

It contains very useful information about mail that purports to be from Comcast.

By the time you get through reading it YOU will be an expert on HOW to know that the mail is a phishing attempt.

If you get any more of these types of mail, it would be a waste of time to chat or call Comcast about it.

Others have reported they called or chatted when they received those mails to find out if it is legitimate.

Some were told NO, others told YES.
