internet speed

If I'm getting BLAST speed, and have an NIC of 10/100, and then do a speed check, shouldn't my speed be maxed out at 100 instead of 94.52?

Re: internet speed

There is overhead on the TCP / IP protocol.  Speeds are never 100%, 94 would be tops on a 100 nic, and some times even less.

Re: internet speed

Your nic has little to do with it. The nic card ratings are the maximum ratings your internet could run at IF you had 100 mbps service. The tier of internet service you pay for controls what speed you get. If your speed test shows 94 mbps, you're probably getting over what you pay for.

Sure it can.... Blast is 105  in some areas. 150 in others. If they have 105 they will be lucky if they get 85-95 with a 10/100 NIC. If they have 150, they will never get it with a 10/100 NIC..
