internet explorer

I've been having a problem with Internet explorer for awhile and it's getting worse. It usually freezes up within 5 minutes and I have to reboot. Nothing will work. The mouse pointer moves but will not work otherwise. I cannot hit the exit button, I have to hit control, alt, delete to get out of the program. Otherwise, all I get is the circle of death. Is this a virus?

Re: internet explorer

First, try clearing IE's browsing history, then close it out and re-start it in a fresh session.  If that doesn't do it, try using a different browser.  What version of Windows are you running?
