If you are referring to a particular sender, you can set up a filter to block/re-direct them.  If you are on the old email format, from the Inbox page go to Preferences>>>>>>Mail>>>>>>>Email Filters.  If you are on the new format, on the Inbox page, click on the gear icon in the upper right corner of the screen, and then on Settings>>>>>Mail>>>>>Filter Rules.

 

If you are referring to spam, just keep marking them as such when they get to the Inbox to help train the filters.  It takes time.
