how do i add and change e-mail filters

I am new to using filters to sort e-mails I receive at comcast.net.

How do I edit and change filters for mail I receive?

thank you.

Re: how do i add and change e-mail filters

If you are still on the old email format, from the Inbox page go to Preferences>>>>>>Email>>>>>>>Email Filters.  If you are on the new format, from the Inbox page click on the gear icon in the upper right hand corner near your name, then on Settings>>>>>Mail>>>>>>Filter Rules.  In either case, you have quite a few different sorting criteria you can use do do what you want with incoming emails.  Keep in mind that at some point, everyone will be migrated to the new format.  But they are both similar in terms of capabilities.  FWIW, the filters in the old format are notoriously unreliable.  I'm using a few in the new format, and they seem to work quite well----so far.
