help setting up second email user online with xfinity

I have a primary email acct. I have been online at Xfinity  trying to add a second user. My primary accepts just my name, but for second user, why do  they say I have to add symbols, and numbers  to user name.

The only place where it says to use symbols or special characters is when you are putting in the password.  The user name is the email address, or at least the user ID.  I don't know what instructions you are looking at, but these are the correct ones------------------




Is that what you are looking at?  Hovering the mouse pointer over the question mark all I see is this--------------------
