has anyone seen the word zimbra/mail on their email recently

has anyone seen the word zimbra/mail on their email recently

about 6 weeks ago a change happened to my email server which I only use comcast email and after it happened the time on my e-mails were and hour behind like they

came from central time did Comcast make any kind of change that would have caused this?Or has anyone heard of Zimbra before?

Your Comcast email is actually supplied by Zimbra.  Comcast doesn't write it's own email software .  So yes, once in a while you might see the name mentioned.

Zimbra also offers a free desktop version of their email client.  I haven't used it in years, but I used it for several years with several email addresses and really liked it.  I think it's a bit more robust than XfinityConnect webmail, and could probably compete easily with Outlook, Thunderbird, and Windows Live Mail.

I've used Zimbra Desktop myself on my previous ISP Wide Open West since they contract their e-mail services out to Synacor which uses the Zimbra Collaboration Tool to power their mail servers and I tried it out on Comcast also when I became a subscriber back in December, but I found that on Comcast that it only syncs mail. It will not sync your contacts, tasks, or calender. Or function like a free alternative to Microsoft Exchange.
