emails have disappeared from local folders on Outlook 2013

emails have disappeared from local folders on Outlook 2013

I use Outlook 2013 for my comcast email account.  All emails that I moved to local folders on Outlook have suddenly disappeared - 2 years worth of emails.  (emails still in the Inbox, Sent and Trash folders) are still there. Geek squad did a "Level 1 data recovery" of my hard drive and backup hard drive, but could not find them.  Does anyone know what happened to the emails and how to recover them? Is it an Outlook problem or a Comcast problem?  Many thanks for your help!

It sounds like an Outlook problem.  If they were local folders, do you have backups on an external drive?

Yes, I have an external drive that I back up on, but the emails were not there.  I searched and Geek Squad searched both the internal hard drive and the external back up drive.

Then the only thing I can suggest at this point is that you call Comcast security and see if they can recover them for you-----------------

I contacted Customer Security, but they were also unable to recover the missing emails.  Thank you.
