emails being marked as read by viewing in preview pane

emails being marked as read by viewing in preview pane

the new xfinity email quickly marks email as read without clicking to open the email if the horizontal viewing pane is turned on.  I get a lot of emails and like to keep these as marked as unread until I choose to delete or act on them later to then mark as read myself.  There should be a setting to select ones preference in time viewing or whether to mark as read like other email programs

Re: emails being marked as read by viewing in preview pane

I am unable to duplicate this issue.  My unread messages stay that way until I click on them.  Try using a different browser to see if the same thing happens.

Re: emails being marked as read by viewing in preview pane

it happens in chrome & firefox browsers if you are using preview pane to view email content. It marks as read within seconds if you view email preview.  This started happening when comcast changed email to new version a few weeks ago

kevinhansen2000, have you tried deactivating the preview pane and then activating it again?

Is this affecting all the usernames in your household?
