I started using Comcast in April of 2007.  I needed dependable web access, which is what I received and have enjoyed for nine years.  With the web access, I received email services.  I used my name to set up my first email address.  When Xfinity came aboard, I unknowlingly displaced that initial email address thinking that I was setting up an access user to Xfinity. Some time thereafter, I had several clients say that they could not contact me using my "old" email address.  Apparently, the displacement of my initial email address has launched it into the ether, because after three attempts with technical assistance I have not been able to re-establish my initial email address as either my primary or secondary address.  What can I do--who specifically can I contact--to get my inital email address back into my account?

Re: email

When you change or delete a suer ID (that part of the email address to the left of the @ symbol),  it is suspended for 90 days, after which it goes back into the pool of available IDs for any other Comcast customer who wants to claim it.  So if someone else did that, you will not be able to get it back.  When you try to set it back up again, do you get an error telling you it's already in use?  Exactly what happens?

Re: email

This is the message that I receive when I try to "Add a personal email address":  Invalid Alternate Email-Email Cannot be empty or Comcast Domain cannot be used.

One would think that Comcast would have a "do over" option in their operating system, especially for circumstances like mine where I unknowlingly displaced that address (that occured when the Xfinity Brand was superceding the Comcast Brand).  I do not know what date I initiated the error; I have been petitioning Comcast for assistance to help right the wrong.

Re: email

I'm going to escalate this to the forum administrator to see if we can get you sorted out.  If the old ID is still available you should be able to use it to set up a secondary account.
