How can I get notified if my sent email has been read?

Re: email

The old email format does not have any provision for read reciepts.  The new version does have it, and it seems to be working.  Have you switched to the new format?  If not, the only way to do what you are looking for is to enablel the account in a desktop email client like Outlook, Thunderbird or some other.  Either way, compliance is voluntary on the part of the recipient.

I don't have the new format and see no way to switch to it. But I'm wondering if, when you receive a Read Receipt, you are given the option whether to send an ACK or not, or if Comcast ACKs it for you automatically.

Do you know how that works? Thanks!

Re: email

I got it to work once Bruce, but now I've sent a couple of test emails to my Yahoo account, and another to one of my iCloud accounts and nothing shows up.  The one time it did I got a box asking if I wanted to respond to the Read Receipt.  So apparently it's disabled for the moment, like a number of other things we are finding.  But here is what it looks like in the Composing page---------------------------
