when I delete an email from comcast inbox on my home computer, how do I get it to delete simultaniously on my iphone?  thanks

Are you using using an email client on the computer, or just the Comcast webmail?  You need to have the account set up both in your client (like Outlook, Thunderbird etc), and on the phone, using IMAP instead of POP3.  That way everything is synced, and when you delete an email in one place it will be deleted on any other device you have the account enabled on.  If you need more information about IMAP setings post back.
