email sync issue

When I delete an email from a phone it now deletes it automatically from the comcast email server, which then deletes the email to other devices my family also uses to all monitor this shared email family address.

 

How can I stop it from syncing and deleting across multiple devices.  This is not useful when multiple people are sharing a family email address.

 

There are no adjustments on the phone, or through the comcast email settings.  This was never a problem before, but is now that I got a new phone and syncing is funtioning differently.

 

Please help.

When you have a device set to use IMAP it syncs with the server and deleting it from one device will make it disappear from all IMAP devices.

 

You need to change it to POP and set it to leave email on the server for the phone.  that way deleting it on the phone won't delete it from other devices.

 

 

Also you do know that you can set up additional email addresses for them right?
