dropping comcast internet

I am thinking about dropping Comcast internet but don't know if I will lose my comcast e-mail address which all my contacts use.  Will I have to change it or can I keep it and use it the same way I do Gmail?

If you cancel Comcast, your email address goes away with it.  Sorry.

As of this moment-----no, you can't.  It has long been the policy of Comcast that if you cancel service you can no longer access the email account.  However, with the new email format rollout, there is a feature in the works that will let former customers keep their email account active.  But it has not yet been implemented, and there is no definite timeframe right now as to when it might be put into place.
