deleting emails from gmail also deletes from comcast.

When deleting emails from gmail on new phone that were forwarded from Comcast account, it also deletes from comcast email.  I like to keep my phone clean but keep emails on Laptop.  Can I stop this from happening.  My phone that I just traded in had no problem with this.  Previous Phone:  Galaxy Stellar.  New Phone:  Motorola Droid Turbo

Re: deleting emails from gmail also deletes from comcast.

The old phone may have been set up using POP3, with an option checked to leave a copy of emails on the server.  When you transitioned to the new phone it probably defaulted to setting the account up as IMAP compliant.  When using IMAP, everything is synced.  So if you delete a message on the phone, it will be deleted on the server, or any other computer or other device the account is enabled on using IMAP.
