deleted emails held on server

How can I delete emails from Comcast server?  I have it set in "preferences" for one day.  When I right click on Trash I see deleted emails going all the way back to MAY.

Go to the top of the page and click on your avatar.  In the menu then click on My Settings>>>>>Subscriptions and Notifications>>>>>Notification Settings.  That's where you can set your preferences for getting emails from the forums.

As for recovering an email, when you are looking at that window where you can see them listed, look at the top of the list for a small folder icon with an arrow in it.  Click on that and you will see how to move a message from the recovery folder back to another folder.

Re: deleted emails held on server

If you are referring to the "Recover Deleted Items" feature, that list is only supposed to go back 2 weeks.  I'm going to escalate this to the forum administrator to get someone to look at your account.

Re: deleted emails held on server

Hi ahopka, could you please confirm if this is the Recover Deleted Items feature because as Latoque stated these emails here will stay for about 2 weeks.

Thank you

Re: deleted emails held on server

I see deleted emails going back to August 22.  Also,

I cannot "recover" a recently deleted email -- don't actually

want to - just tried it to see if it would work.

I have called and called and called - Customer Security Assurance Center.

gotten as far as Tier 2 but no one helps me.

Re: deleted emails held on server

Yes I see those deleted emails when I right click on the trash folder

and the window for "recover email" opens --- there are emails going back

to end of August and also I cannot "recover" a recently deleted email.

Re: deleted emails held on server

thank you - i will try to fix my settings on this forum ---

regarding recovering deleted emails -- when that window opens there

is nothing like what you describe - at the top of the window is a search bar --??

Contributor

Re: deleted emails held on server

sorry - with regard to the "recover deleted" window -- I do vaguely

see a small, grayed out "something" - but when i put the cursur on it

i get a round red circle with a slash - cant click on it

Re: deleted emails held on server

by the way - i would happily give you a "kudo" but cant figure out how to do it!

Re: deleted emails held on server

I am probably doing this forum/reply stuff all wrong and if so I apologize --

I did figure out the "recover" window --in the search box I would type the subject of the email l

would want to recall.  Then when it comes up click on it and can move to a different folder.

So THANK YOU VERY MUCH for explaining that.

I'm still wondering why the deleted emails are there (I presume on the server) for so long --- just

the other day they went all the way back to May -- possibly a tech within Comcast IS actually working

on this because now they just go back to August 22.

I do wish I could figure out how to give you a "kudo" - because I'm very grateful.

Re: deleted emails held on server

Thank YOU.  It is just wonderful to be able to get help this way.   Calling Comcast is

an absolute nightmare and seldom do they help or solve anything.
