how do you add names from your contact list to groups?

If you are still on the old email format, open the Address Book, and select the contact.  When you do that the toolbar above it will become active and you should see the option to "Add to group".  If you are on the new format, try to drag and drop the contact from the list to the group folder in the left pane.  If it doesn't work, try using a different browser.  Some people have had a problem with this.
