changing username

I don't like the username Comcast gave me and have been trying to change it but it keeps giving me an error but it doesn't tell what the error is.  I have tried every way I can possibly do this but I am my wit's end.  Help!!!

Re: changing username

Is the user ID in question your primary account?  If you can sign in with it, try this--------------

Go to "My Accounts" at the top of the page.  it will ask you to sign in again.  Then click on "Users and Preferences" at the top of the next page.  You should now see the tab with your primary account showing in it.  If you have any secondary accounts they will show in tabs to the right.  If you don't have any, there should be a tab with "Add User" in it.  Create a secondary user that you would like to make the primary user.  When finished with that, go back to the primary tab and under the section "User Names", click on "Transfer primary user".  Follow the prompts to select the account you just created to make it the new primary.

Once you have the new primary up and running, go back in and delete the other user.  Does that solve your issue?

ETA:  Remember----when you delete that user ID, it also deletes the email address associated with it, and it can't be undone.
