cannot import contacts from outlook express

cannot import contacts from outlook express

Cannot import contacts from Outlook express. I've created a .csv file from Outlook Express and saved it on an external hard drive. When prompted I selected the file (with the csv extension) & the error message I get is: please select a valid file. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Try logging in to http://www.plaxo.com/join/existImport using your Comcast email address and password and uploading the file there. Plaxo is the division of Comcast that operates the Xfinity Connect address book. Please let us know it that works for you.

I can't import addresses from Gmail -- it asks me to download some sort of Google app, which I can't from Google.  Also tried to import from Outlook, and I keep getting redirected to Xfinity's downloadable program that links it to Outlook, even though I've already downloaded that program.  This is extremely frustrating and once again supports the conviction that large, largely unregulated, quasi-monopolies should have their wings clipped.
