blocking unwanted email

blocking unwanted email

I have a certain individual who sends me unwanted  emails.....rather  than get into an email argument back and forth. I would find it much easier if I could just block his emails and to let him know that he is being blocked from emailing me...do you have a feature to do that blocking..

Re: blocking unwanted email

From your Inbox page, go to Preferences>>>>>Email>>>>>>Email Filters.  You can set a filter to re-direct his emails anywhere you want, including just discarding them before you even see them.  Comcast email has no provision for sending the offending party any kind of "bounce" message though.  I don't know of any webmail program that does.

I use Apple Mail, and I can do what you are describing with the filtering system in that client.  Thunderbird does not have it, but supports auto-forwarding using filters.  Windows Live Mail has it, but only if your account is set up using POP3 and not IMAP.  Here's a tutorial on that----------------

There may be other clients that have the feature that I am not famliar with.
