Xfinity Email screen does not open, defaults back to My Xfinity screen

The problem: I open My Xfinity and then click on the letter email icon to connect and I see the login screen. I log in BUT instead of being directed to my email, I'm redirected right back to the My Xfinity general everything screen--but I'm logged in. How do I get the email screen to appear? As of yesterday, I have to use my phone to access email--which works fine.

I'm using Xfinity Email on a Mac laptop (Mac OS El Capitan v.10.11.5, browser: Safari v.9.1.1).

Try clearing the cache/browsing history in Safari, then close it out and restart it in a fresh session.  If that doesn't work try using a different browser.
