Xfinity Data Usage Meter

Xfinity Data Usage Meter

I went to open the Xfinity Data Usage Meter and it prompted me to install a MAJOR update.  Once I did, I went to open it again and it kept prompting me to install a MAJOR update.  It never opens.  Please help.  Thank you for your time and consideration into this matter.

Re: Xfinity Data Usage Meter

I noticed that nobody from Comcast has answered your question. I have the same problem and just assume that nobody in Comcast probably has the expertise to answer the question. I did notice that it is still on the website to download.

I deleted the data meter from my computer and then tried to reinstall straight from the website but it does the same thing as before.

It would be nice to quickly check the data without logging into your account and go thru that slow process.

Your assumption is most likely incorrect, as no one really cares...This is Comcast we're talking about, after all...They are historically not known for their customer service, only concern are sales to bolster the bottom-line..

Mine has not worked for months.  COMCAST neither cares nor knows how to fix it.

You can view your data usage by logging into your account online and going to https://customer.xfinity.com/MyServices/

Under the Xfinity Internet Area, click on Manage.  ON the next page that loads, you will see the current usage in a window on the right side of the page.  YOu can also look at the last 3 months by clicking on Data Usage Details.

Re: Xfinity Data Usage Meter

COMCAST/XFINITY does not know how to fix this.

My Account Usage page still does not show my usage but the text messaging service that alerts you when you are getting close to your limit still works so at least you know when you are close but nothing until then.

I have had 2 tickets opened to fix the web page that shows me where I am but have gotten nothing but crickets from them in weeks.

I did, however, figure out a way to install the app and have it work for me:

1- download the app (if you have not already done so from Comcast).

2- uninstall the app you may currently have that does not work

3- open the download folder where you downloaded the usage meter app

4- create a new/different folder for the app (i.e. C:\comcast usage meter)

5- right click on the usage meter app you download and choose "Run as Administrator" (you will need admin rights to your PC of course)

6- install the app and over write the default folder to use the new folder name you created in step 4

The combination of installing the app as adminstrator and using a different folder did the trick for me on Windows.

The web site still does not show usage for me but at least the PC tool now works. Hope that helps others..... we are on our own as far as support on this.
