Xfinity Connect timestamps are inconsistent

Xfinity Connect timestamps are inconsistent

When there is a delay between the time a message is sent and the time it arrives at Comcast, both the Lite and Full versions of Xfinity Connect display a different timestamp in the message List view from the one you see when you open the message.

Here's an example as seen in Firefox, although the same thing happens in IE and Chrome. In List view this email's timestamp shows as 6:54am EDT (perhaps from one of the "Received:" headers):

XcT1b.png

But when you open this message the timestamp shows as 3:19am EDT (perhaps from the "Date:" header):

!

Why is there a 3 hour and 35 minute time difference between these two? Shouldn't they be the same?

The message headers look like this:

Return-Path: mailer@lithium.com

Re: Xfinity Connect timestamps are inconsistent

Bruce,

This is a known issue. Because of the volume of these type of messages going through our mail server, our mail server is trying to scrub those messages to ensure they are not spam. This is happening because the email message is coming from Lithium not Comcast directly. We are actively working to get these email messages moved over to come from a Comcast.net/Comcast.com email address. Once this is completed there should no longer be a delay as the email notification will come from within our own mail server. We anticipate this change to happen before the end of the month. If you continue to experience this issue after that time please don't hesitate to let me know.

I'm not sure how much that's going to help. The discrepancy seems to be a bug in Xfinity Connect that appears whenever the "Received:" header timestamp is different from the "Date:" header timestamp.

Here's another example where the List view timestamp doesn't match what is displayed when the message is opened, even though the servers are xfinity.com/comcast.net all the way through. The List view looks like:

But when you open the message:

Headers for this message:
